How Badly Do You Want It?

HOW BADLY DO YOU WANT IT?
By Apostle Joseph Ziba
And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.—(Mark 9: 35)

Despite the fact that success is a heritage to God’s children, spiritual things don’t mechanically work. One must take an initiative to make them work. So, one must choose and take a corresponding action to succeed in life. This is exactly what the Scripture above implies.

It says, “….if any man DESIRE to be first…” and conveying a very vital truth to us that anything to do with success will happen because of your choice. You don’t simply find yourself on number one or on top; it has to come from your desire. Actually, the word “desire” in the original Greek rendering means more than just a mere wish. It’s not just wishing to become a billionaire, a success, or number one in what you are doing. It’s being willing and seeing yourself (with an action) accomplishing it. Success is a product of your decisions and/or your will. Therefore, unless you sit down and decide on being successful you won’t be successful.

It’s very imperative, at this point, to understand that of all the treasures God has, He won’t decide how much you should get. He leaves that to you to decide. Actually, He’s already given you the whole world and all the treasures therein (1 Corinthians 3:21-22). Therefore, from all that God the Father has given, you choose and demand how much you want for yourself personally. The good thing is that no man can exhaust the supply of God.

The differences in success amongst people aren’t necessarily because some are more mature than others or that some are more favored by God than others. They differ in their choices about success. For your information, success is not an accident neither does it respond to fasting and prayer. It comes when you engage your will to succeed.

When you desire or choose to succeed as Jesus put it in the Scripture above, there is a peculiar “energy” (from God) that comes in you that causes you to do what no common man can do. You find yourself praying and fasting and seeking the face of God and working hard than all your contemporaries in your endeavors. You do all that because you baldly want one thing and that’s “Success”.

Although biologists erroneously put man and animals in the universal category of animals, man is not an animal. God blessed man with the will which is the power to choose what they want, how much they want and where they want to get in life; but animals are not so. God in His loving kindness respects the choices that man makes; He isn’t a dictator.

Therefore, desire and choose to succeed today in your family, business, career, ministry et cetera and engage yourself fully in it and God the Father will surely respect that and will back you up.
