The Light for Your Life
The Light for Your Life by Apostle Joseph Ziba
Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man, To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living—[Job 33:29-30).
The Scripture above depicts a vital truth. It says that there’s a special light of all the living. This is what we refer to as the ”Light for My Life”. Now, what is the significance of this special light? Based on the preceding verses of the opening Scripture above, it is the light that reveals who you are.
In other words, the light of life in this regard defines who you are and makes manifest your true identity (in Christ from God’s perspective). It exposes you to your destiny in God and indeed to your purpose for existence.
For instance, once that light dawns in you, for the first time you begin to realize that you weren’t created for the sole purpose of being somebody’s wife. God meant something big when He created you as a woman. As a male or female you begin to comprehend that there’s more to life than you are currently experiencing!
Saul of Tarsus, for example, used to be a persecutor of the Church, but that wasn’t his true identity. His real identity came when he encountered the light of life on his way to Damascus (Acts 9:3; 22:6). From that moment on, he changed from being Christ’s antagonist to the great Apostle of Christ we cerebrate today. So you see the light of life is very important.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men-(John 1:4).
In the Scriptures there are different Greek words for the word “light”. Some words talk of the light of the sun, others of the moon and others of the light of the lamp.
In the context of John 1 above the word “light” is translated from the Greek word “phos” and it refers to the special light of the sun. Light of the sun is also called the light of the day since the sun is what gives the day.
Now in Genesis 1 verses 14-16 there are two powerful things about the light of the sun which I want you to take note of.
Firstly it says light of the sun is the determinant of your seasons in God. ”Let there be lights…for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years “(verse 14).
God works in seasons. Actually a season is a window of opportunity which God gives to man. It’s a moment of availing grace and faith to believe by the Father. Thus, the light of life locates you to your seasons in God—you begin to walk at par with God, so to say. You do what the Father wants you to do; you go to places as directed by God and you speak as the Father wants you to. At the end you remain on top of the game of life always.
Secondly, light the sun also determines your degree of domination in your season. Verse 16 says: ”…the greater light to rule the day ….”. In other words, the power to rule in your season (day) is dependent upon the amount of light (of the sun) you’ve in your spirit.
Having laid down these truths, we trust the Father that in this month:
•There will be a special grace for the revelation of divine purposes for our lives
•Everyone will be fully aware that they are meant to be bigger than where they are now
•Scales that have been blinding us from our divine purposes will be taken away
•There will be a push in our spirits to do the extra-ordinary things which we’ve been “afraid” of doing over the years.
John 8:12 KJV
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 11:9 KJV
Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
