God sees three classes of people in the world: the Jews, the Gentiles and the Church. This is what I emphasized in my previous teachings. I also showed you the differences among them.

Today I will elucidate two things which distinguish the Church from the Jews and the Gentiles.

  1. Righteousness

Only the Church has righteousness. It’s a gift for those who are born again (Romans 5:17). Righteousness makes one to be and do what is right. It gives one a position or a right stand with God. It produces characters of God in the human spirit. For instance, the ability to be joyful even in times of trouble.

“Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.” Matthew 18:15-17

In the Scriptures above, Jesus explains the stages of dealing with someone who has trespassed against you. In verse 17, He depicts the Church as the ultimate voice that places final verdict over matters. This is because the Church speaks from God’s position (righteousness) and has judgments of things pertaining to this life (1 Corinthians 6:4).

Take note, however, that this doesn’t necessarily mean that the voice of the world is a lie. What is spoken may be intellectually sound, medically true, historically right, and scientifically proven but that voice cannot be final.

God gets baffled when His children accept and carry themselves according to the voice of the world. Brethren, don’t trade your faith with reason!

The word “heathen” in verse 17 above means “gentile” or “non-believer”. Thus, the Church has audacity to denounce one’s faith. In other words, the Church’s declaration can make a gentile the one who is a Christian.

Imagine, if the Church has the mandate to denounce one’s faith in Christ, will it fail to condemn that bad medical report, the financial crisis, your broken marriage et cetera? Absolutely no.

  1. Faith

The Church also has faith—a virtue that is imparted to those who hear and believe in God’s word.

“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” Hebrews 11:3

The word “understand” in this verse signifies the “mind”. So, faith gives one a supernatural mind which cultures miracles. With faith, one operates in an extraordinary way. Tell me, which scientist can explain how a small stick made an axe to float on water in the time of Elisha? (2 Kings 6:5-7). But with faith Elisha defied the law of density.

That’s what the mind of faith could do in the Old Testament. A man of the New Testament can do more than that since the Holy Ghost indwells them.

“In wisdom God planned that no man should find Him by science, otherwise professors could be the most anointed people in the world.” Apostle Joseph Ziba

In 1 Corinthians 1 from verse 18, Apostle Paul contrasts the wisdom of God and the wisdom of the world. Men of the world in their wisdom strive to understand things with their natural minds. They want everything to make sense to them. But according to God’s wisdom, the men of faith (the Church) don’t operate by logic.

In wisdom God planned that no man should find Him by science, otherwise professors could be the most anointed people in the world.

The world sees what you do in response to the word of God as foolishness because it is wiser than their wisdom. That is why you should be proud when people are not understanding you for it is a proof that what you are doing is far above from this world. After all, the mission of the church is to confound the wisdom of the world by the mind of faith.

By this truth, the mind of faith is activated in you, in Jesus name!
